This edition of International Dialogue is about the modern political trends in Ukraine and how did it change recently. In 2019, new parties came to Verkhovna Rada, and new young leaders appeared there. It is very interesting to watch how the leading party, the Servant of the People party, invited a lot of new faces to them. Some of them had no political background, like M. Tyshenko. Still, the President said he believes them and wants to give a chance to people. A new generation of media managers and professionals in different spheres came to power. Sviatoslav Yurash became the youngest MP in Ukraine. He co-founded the cross- party conservative grouping Values. Dignity. Family in the Ukrainian parliament. He also voted against ratification of the Istanbul Convention in Ukraine. Today, we will talk with Sviatoslav about creating a new political culture in Ukraine, war realities, and how we can develop more our international connections with world partners. You will hear the first part of our conversation.

Святослав Юраш став наймолодшим народним депутатом України. Він став співзасновником міжпартійного консервативного блоку «Цінності. Гідність. Сім'я» в українському парламенті. Він також голосував проти ратифікації Україною Стамбульської конвенції. Сьогодні, ми поговоримо зі Святославом про створення нової політичної культури в Україні, реалії війни та про те, як ми можемо розвивати міжнародні зв’язки зі світовими партнерами. This edition of International Dialogue is about the USA's future presidential elections, the election campaign's start, and how it can influence Ukraine. We talked with Artur Koldomasov, an International Information Analyst at Detector Media. This edition we crossed the line a bit and talked also about the importance of political psychological analyzes of the world leaders. Anyway, for Ukraine, getting financial and military help from the USA is extremely important. It is still hard to say who will win the elections for now. We know that with the help of President's Biden Administration, we got a huge support for our soldiers. There is no guarantee that Mr. Trump (given he wins the election once more) will continue this line. Anyway, any American leader who understands the necessity of countering Russia should consider this element in the promotion of his election campaign.

У цьому випуску ми трохи переступили межу і поговорили також про важливість політично- психологічного аналізу світових лідерів. У будь-якому разі для України отримання фінансової та військової допомоги від США є надзвичайно важливим. Поки що важко сказати, хто переможе на виборах. Ми знаємо, що за допомогою адміністрації президента Байдена ми отримали величезну підтримку для наших солдатів. Немає жодних гарантій, що пан Трамп (якщо він знову виграє вибори) продовжить цю лінію. У всякому разі, будь-який американський лідер, який розуміє необхідність протидії Росії, повинен враховувати цей елемент у просуванні своєї передвиборчої кампанії.

The United States is the undisputed leader in providing aid to Ukraine and mobilizing world support for our country: defense, financial, political, and humanitarian, as well as in ensuring sanctions pressure on the aggressor country. After February 24, 2022, the US Congress allocated $66 billion for Ukraine and other countries for Ukraine-related needs. Of this, $13 billion is direct budget support for Ukraine through non-refundable grants and over $1.9 billion in humanitarian aid. The American presidential campaign has been officially opened. What should one expect from the Candidates and how it can influence Ukraine? We will talk with Artur Koldomasov, an International Information Analyst at Detector Media. This edition of Ukraine Global is about the young world and Ukrainian politicians who proved that sometimes it is not really necessary to have huge political experience behind your shoulders to become a country’s leader. Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Justin Trudeau are just the most vivid examples of such leaders. The question is should people and companies give the chance those who don’t have any experience but have a strong desire and fire to work in their eyes. The answer is – yes and no. No, because those people are also more likely to crash and burn. Though the best leaders—Steve Jobs, Abraham Lincoln—were unfiltered, the things that made them so effective, such as their ability to think differently and not feel beholden to a certain way of doing things, often lead to terrible results. Unfiltered leaders are high risk, high reward. Filtered leaders—like Tim Cook and Neville Chamberlain—have deep knowledge and can be very effective in a stable situation. But they often can’t adapt to extreme, sudden change or are unable to disrupt the status quo, which an outsider feels freer to do. In Ukraine the situation is almost the same as in the whole world. People want new faces, smart, ambitious people who were not a part of an old political system. At the same time, creating contradiction because such people don’t understand how the system works inside. So, the possible variant is to be in the system, study it from aside and then create your own strategy of political growth.

Цей випуск програми про молодих світових та українських політиків, які довели, що інколи зовсім не обов’язково мати за плечима величезний політичний досвід, щоб стати лідером країни. Володимир Зеленський, Джастін Трюдо – є лише одними з найвідоміших прикладів таких лідерів. Питання в тому, чи повинні люди і компанії давати шанс тим, хто не має досвіду, але має велике бажання і вогонь працювати в очах. Відповідь – і так, і ні. Ні, тому що ці люди також мають більше шансів розбитися та згоріти. Хоча найкращі лідери — Стів Джобс, Авраам Лінкольн — були невідфільтрованими, речі, які зробили їх такими ефективними, як-от здатність мислити по-іншому й не відчувати обов’язку певного способу ведення справ, часто призводять до жахливих результатів. Нефільтровані лідери – це високий ризик, висока винагорода. Відфільтровані лідери, такі як Тім Кук і Невіл Чемберлен, мають глибокі знання та можуть бути дуже ефективними в стабільній ситуації. Але вони часто не можуть пристосуватися до екстремальних, раптових змін або не можуть порушити статус-кво, коли стороння людина відчуває себе більш вільною. В Україні майже така ж ситуація, як і в усьому світі. Люди хочуть нових обличь, розумних, амбітних людей, які не були частиною старої політичної системи. Водночас створюючи протиріччя, тому що такі люди не розуміють, як працює система всередині. Тому можливий варіант – бути в системі, вивчати її збоку, а потім створювати свою стратегію політичного зростання.
